President Biden's Health Care Focus In New Hampshire

U.S. President Biden attends a dinner hosted by the Human Rights Campaign at the Washington Convention Center in Washington

President Biden is currently on a visit to New Hampshire, following a recent poll that indicates a higher level of trust among Americans for former President Trump to lead the country. The President's trip to New Hampshire is part of a series of visits he is making after delivering his State of the Union address. During his visit, he is focusing on healthcare issues, urging Congress to pass policies such as implementing a $2,000 cap on prescription drug costs and making $35 insulin available to all, not just those on Medicare.

However, President Biden is facing skepticism as the poll reveals that 36% of Americans trust former President Trump more to lead the country, compared to 33% who trust Biden and 30% who trust neither. Over the weekend, President Biden was also in Georgia, where he aimed to strengthen his support among minority voters. He highlighted the record low black and Latino unemployment rates under his administration.

Despite recent polls showing a decline in support among black voters for President Biden, his supporters remain confident. They believe that the majority of African-Americans, Caribbean-Americans, and black voters across the nation will ultimately support President Biden in the upcoming elections. They point to his track record of delivering on key issues, such as achieving the lowest rate of black unemployment in decades.

The latest poll data indicates that 28% of black voters would support former President Trump in a head-to-head matchup with President Biden, a significant increase from four years ago. This shift in support underscores the importance of President Biden's outreach efforts to maintain the backing of key voter demographics as the political landscape continues to evolve.
