President Biden recently addressed House Democrats in a letter that indirectly criticized Rep. Dean Phillips, a Democrat from Minnesota, for raising concerns about Biden's age and mental acuity during the Democratic primary.
Although Biden did not mention Phillips by name, he acknowledged the congressman's repeated attempts to highlight these issues. Biden emphasized that the primary was open to all candidates, with only three individuals choosing to challenge him. One candidate performed poorly and switched to running as an independent, while another who criticized Biden's age was decisively defeated.
Biden pointed out that the Democratic voters had spoken by selecting him as the party's nominee. He also made a reference to John F. Kennedy Jr., who is currently running as an independent candidate.
During his campaign, Phillips had expressed doubts about Biden's ability to effectively serve as President for another four years, citing concerns about age-related limitations. Phillips stated that it would be impossible for someone at that stage of life to fulfill the demands of the presidency adequately.
