During a recent live TV interview on ABC's 'The View,' President Joe Biden expressed confidence in his ability to defeat former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election. Despite facing calls from some prominent Democrats to step aside, Biden remains steadfast in his belief that he could have secured victory over Trump.
When asked about his relationship with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Biden assured that their relationship was fine. He dismissed the notion of overwhelming reluctance towards his candidacy for a second term, citing his consistent poll numbers against Trump as evidence that he was always within range of defeating his opponent.
Biden acknowledged the natural inclination of some individuals to desire a change in leadership, stating, 'There were some folks who'd like to see me step aside so they get the chance to move on. I get that. That's just human nature.' However, he clarified that his decision not to seek reelection was primarily influenced by his age.
Reflecting on his age, Biden humorously remarked, 'It's hard for me to even say how old I am. I give my word it's like, holy God that can't be right. This can't be right.' Despite stepping down due to his age, Biden reiterated his confidence in his ability to secure a victory over Trump, asserting, 'I was confident I would beat Trump. He's a loser.'
