President Biden Commemorates Anniversary Of White House Terrorist Attack

U.S. President Joe Biden departs the White House in Washington

US President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden marked the anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attack at the White House on Monday. The couple lit a yahrzeit candle and observed a moment of silence in remembrance of the tragic event.

Rabbi Aaron Alexander from the Adas Israel Congregation joined the Bidens for the commemoration. Rabbi Alexander, a close friend of the Goldberg-Polin family, led the recitation of the “El Malei Rachamim” prayer as a tribute to the victims of the attack.

The Goldberg-Polin family tragically lost their son, Hersh, who was abducted by Hamas last year and later murdered by the terrorist group in August. The commemoration served as a solemn reminder of the devastating impact of terrorism on families and communities.

President Biden chose not to deliver any remarks during the ceremony and quietly exited the room following the moment of silence. The event highlighted the importance of honoring the memory of those who have lost their lives to acts of terrorism and standing in solidarity with affected families.
