The preseason AP Top 25 has been released ahead of the 2022 college football season.
The Georgia Bulldogs, fresh off their first national championship in 41 years, will start the season at No. 3 as they look to repeat.
Unsurprisingly, the Alabama Crimson Tide occupy the top spot in the rankings followed by the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Alabama received 54 first-place votes, Ohio State received six and Georgia received three.
Georgia’s Week 1 opponent, Oregon, opens the season ranked No. 11 in the AP Top 25. The Ducks rank No. 12 in the USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll.
SEC teams in the rankings are Alabama (1), Georgia (3), Texas A&M (6), Arkansas (19), Kentucky (20) and Ole Miss (21).
One big surprise: Texas is unranked in the AP Top 25. The Longhorns ranked No. 18 in the Coaches Poll and received a first-place vote.
Tennessee is unranked in the AP Top 25 as well, but received the most votes of teams that did not make the cut.
