Preparing for the Ram temple consecration | A package

The Ram Temple in Ayodhya, is set to be inaugurated on January 22. Ahead of the consecration ceremony, the temple has received several items, with States looking to play a part in the event. Here’s a look at how, and what people across India have contributed in the lead-up to the ceremony.

An idol by a Mysuru sculptor, to be placed on a gold-plated throne from Rajasthan, and to be worshiped with bells sourced from Tamil Nadu is how the temple has been brought together.

The list of contribution has grown as the date for the idol consecration has neared. While cooking oil for ‘Sita Rasoi’ (Sita’s kitchen) has been brought from Rajasthan, specially prepared laddus will be shipped in from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. Gifts have also been received from Nepal, believed to be the birthplace of Sita, and Sri Lanka, where she was kept in captivity, according to Ramayana.
