Premium Bond results for March 2024 have been announced and two lucky Premium Bond holders from West Sussex and Hampshire/Isle of Wight have received the £1 million prize.
The first new millionaire holds the maximum £50,000 in Premium Bonds. They bought their winning bond 513VQ281226 in September 2022. The second £1 million winner won with the bond number 441BK932039. Their winning bond was purchased in February 2021 and they also have £50,000 invested in Premium Bonds.
NS&I has reduced its prize rate from 4.65% to 4.40% from its March 2024 draw. NS&I previously said it estimates the number of prizes up for grabs this draw will be reduced to 5,771,425 prizes. However, there will still be two jackpot prizes of £1 million.
The prize fund rate is the nearest thing Premium Bonds has to an interest rate.
But how do you check if you’ve won? Here’s everything you need to know.
What are Premium Bonds?
Premium Bonds are a form of investment offered by National Savings and Investment (NS&I), a savings bank owned by the UK Government.
Instead of earning interest on money, holders of the bonds are entered into a random draw at the start of the month, with tax-free prizes worth between £25 and £1 million.
How to check if you’ve won
You can use NS&I’s prize checker to see if you’ve won anything in the most recent draw, as well as draws in the past six months and older draws.
Here are the numbers of winners at each level of prize money:
- £1 million - 2
- £100,000 - 71
- £50,000 - 141
- £25,000 - 284

Alexa owners can also ask their devices to check if they’ve won the monthly draw.
How are Premium Bond winners notified?
NS&I will notify winners via email or text. If you opt to have your prize transferred to your bank account, you’ll receive it by the seventh working day of the month.
Alternatively, you can choose to have your prize reinvested into more bonds.
