With the 2022 World Cup in Qatar now right around the corner, the Premier League is set for a mid-season hiatus.
Following discussions arund the summer climate in the Middle East, the decision was taken to hold the tournament during the cooler winter months in Qatar. Temperatures during the summer can be seen as high as 40-50C with specialists confirming a much safer alternative during the domestic campaign.
As both the Premier League and the Championship are set to pause, England's third and fourth tiers, EFL's League's One and Two will continue throughout the month-long tournament. All of Europe's other top leagues are set to follow suit with a break.

Many supporters will be itching for the return of the Premier League, given Arsenal's upturn in form and Tottenham's battle to continue their progress under Antonio Conte this term. But just when with England's top flight return you may ask?
With the last round of fixtures set for November 13, the World Cup is set to begin just seven days later in Qatar on November 20. England's first game comes against Iran a day later, November 21, with games against USA and Wales coming on November 25 and November 29 respectively.
The 2022 final is set to be played at the Lusail Stadium in Doha a week before Christmas on Sunday December 18. The Premier League then has a sharpish turnaround, with fixtures scheduled for December 27, just two days after Christmas Day is celebrated here in the UK.
