Premier League trio 'submit bids' for Sunderland's Jack Clarke amid contract speculation

A trio of Premier League clubs have reportedly submitted bids for Sunderland's Jack Clarke. That's according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano who claims Crystal Palace, Burnley and Brentford have all approached the Black Cats.

The 22-year-old has been a standout performer since arriving on Wearside, originally on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, before the club made the move a permanent one last summer. The left winger played 45 times in the Championship, with nine goals and 11 assists to notch a goal return every other game or so.

Romano claims Sunderland are hoping to offer him a fresh contract given his importance to getting the club into the play-offs. Clarke has excelled in the Championship this season and rediscovered the form that saw him move from Leeds United to Tottenham for a fee in the region of £11million.

The Black Cats are hopeful of retaining his services as they look to kick on again next season. Sunderland finished in the play-off places with Clarke featuring in both ties against eventual winners Luton Town.

Tony Mowbray's side have been linked with a move for Birmingham City youngster Jobe Bellingham so far in the off-season, while Amad Diallo continues to be linked with a return to the club after a stellar campaign in red and white.
