Manchester City remain nine points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table after a thrilling round of midweek fixtures.
Pep Guardiola's side were simply too good for Brentford, as they eased to a 2-0 victory at the Etihad on Wednesday evening.
Rivals Manchester United, meanwhile, have dropped to sixth after failing to beat Burnley at Turf Moor on Tuesday, allowing West Ham and Arsenal to leapfrog them.
Elsewhere, Newcastle's 3-1 triumph against Everton has seen them jump outside of the relegation zone. The Toffees are now just two points above the drop.
But which players were responsible for these results? Here, Mirror Football picks its team of the week... and there's a place for the self-proclaimed "King of Football Twitter".
What do you think of our team of the week? Let us know in the comments below!
Kasper Schmeichel
Although Aaron Ramsdale, Alisson, Ederson and Lukasz Fabianski all kept clean sheets, Schmeichel gets the nod for saving a torrent of efforts on Thursday evening.
The Leicester stopper's goal took a battering at Anfield, as Liverpool's rampant attack - which featured the returning Mohamed Salah - hit the target 11 times.
Schmeichel produced several saves to spare Brendan Rodgers' blushes. The result could've been embarrassing had it not been for the Denmark international's brilliance.
Injury-hit Leicester are going through a rough patch right now and Rodgers will be hoping their form improves sooner rather than later.
Kieran Trippier
Newcastle fans were hoping for some much-needed quality when Trippier arrived from Atletico Madrid in January and they weren't disappointed on Tuesday evening.
In their biggest game of the season so far, Trippier produced two moments of magic to help the Toon recover from a goal down to beat Everton at St James' Park.
His excellent corner set up Newcastle's equaliser before whipping a delicious free-kick into Jordan Pickford's net late on to secure the points.
Trippier is one of the best crossers of the ball in the country - along with Trent Alexander-Arnold and James Ward-Prowse - and his ability from a set piece will go a long way to keeping Newcastle up.
The former Tottenham man was the first signing of the Saudi era at Newcastle - and he may just go down as their most important.
Gabriel
Despite losing Gabriel Martinelli to an outrageous red card in the second half, Arsenal managed to hold on to a 1-0 victory at Wolves on Thursday evening.
The other Gabriel - Magalhaes - was a rock at the back and is quickly establishing himself as one of the best young defenders in the Premier League.
His first-half goal was an added bonus, proving he's a threat at both ends of the pitch. A first senior cap for Brazil can't be that far away.
When Gabriel partners Ben White at centre-back, Arsenal are genuine top four contenders. When either of them are missing, however, they could pass as relegation candidates.
Although that may worry manager Mikel Arteta, it's a glowing reference of the Brazilian's ability. The Gunners have found a real gem in Gabriel.
Virgil van Dijk
It's turning out to be some season for Van Dijk, who produced another commanding performance in Liverpool's victory against Leicester.
The Dutchman won everything that came into the box and is back to his best following that brutal ACL injury he suffered against Everton 16 months ago.
Heading into this season, many thought Van Dijk would be rotated following the arrival of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig and Nat Phillips' emergence.
But he's started every single Premier League fixture this term - apart from the two games he missed due to Covid - and is simply too good to rest.
Joao Cancelo
Cancelo has been brilliant for Manchester City during the last 18 months and put in another vintage display in their victory against Brentford.
The full-back - who can play down the right or left - almost scored one of the goals of the season, dancing past three defenders before testing goalkeeper David Raya.
Cancelo has become one of Pep Guardiola's most valuable players and is likely to be a mainstay in City's team for years to come.
"Joao, he was our best winger," said Guardiola. "To dribble past three [defenders] and shoot, our wingers couldn't do it. He's in incredibly top form."
James Ward-Prowse
As briefly mentioned earlier, Ward-Prowse is some crosser. The Englishman delivered two irresistible assists to help Southampton beat Tottenham on Wednesday evening.
When Ward-Prowse appears in possession down the right, a goal almost feels inevitable, such is the quality of his delivery.
He's perhaps unfortunate not to be a regular for the national team - due mainly to the quality of Declan Rice and others - but is surely good enough to play in Europe.
It seems unlikely Southampton will qualify for the Champions League anytime soon, though, and a summer move may be required to see Ward-Prowse fulfil his potential.
"Those crosses were absolutely begging to be headed in," said Jonathan Woodgate on commentary. "On this evidence he could easily play for a top-four team."
Could you imagine if Newcastle signed him? A partnership with Trippier would have centre-backs across England quaking in their boots.
Paul Pogba
It's been easy to question Pogba's commitment to Man Utd over the last few months.
The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season and hasn't played in the Premier League since his absurd red card in the humiliating 5-0 defeat to Liverpool in October.
Some wondered whether we'd even see Pogba in a Man Utd shirt again, yet few will be doubting him following his stellar display against Burnley on Tuesday evening.
Pogba produced an excellent performance, offering Ralf Rangnick's side the quality they've missed in central midfield throughout large parts of the campaign.
Whether the World Cup winner stays or goes, Rangnick must get the best out of him for the rest of the season. He's simply too good to leave on the bench.
Jacob Ramsey
Birmingham is a city blessed with talented footballers and Ramsey - the latest prospect to emerge from the second city - enjoyed a stellar evening on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old scored twice against Leeds to help Villa secure a 3-3 draw, impressing his manager Steven Gerrard in the process.
Gerrard himself was capable of scoring goals from midfield - bagging 120 in the Premier League during his illustrious career - yet insists Ramsey is nothing like him.
"Jacob Ramsey is Jacob Ramsey," said Gerrard. "He's not following in anyone's footsteps.
"He will be a terrific player. It won't be long before the whole country is watching him I'm sure. He is right up there, let me tell you."
And, after Wednesday's performance, few will be questioning the Villa boss.
Philippe Coutinho
Amid the excitement, there was some skepticism when Coutinho arrived at Villa Park in January.
The Brazilian had failed to deliver at both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, with many wondering whether he was still capable of delivering the goods.
Any lingering doubts were answered during Villa's draw with Leeds on Wednesday, with Coutinho producing two assists and scoring a goal to confirm his quality.
If he continues playing like this, Jack Grealish will become a distant memory at Villa Park.
Daniel James
The former Man Utd winger enjoyed a stellar evening on Wednesday, scoring twice to earn struggling Leeds a much-needed point at Villa Park.
The first goal was a moment of quality, picking up the ball in the area and finding the bottom corner with a convincing right-footed strike.
And his second was just as admirable. The little Welshman held off Tyrone Mings - who's nearly a foot bigger than him - to nod home.
James' goals against Villa proves he has ability - and heart - and it's now just a question of whether he can deliver the consistency needed to a Premier League star.
The 30-cap international will be feeling confident, though, after Wednesday's performance. He's now scored four goals and produced two assists in the Premier League for Leeds.
Allan Saint-Maximin
Saint-Maximin claims he's the "King of Football Twitter " - yet his real kingdom is St James' Park.
There's a reason Newcastle fans adore the Frenchman, who was at his brilliant best on Tuesday evening in the victory against Aston Villa.
Saint-Maximin's crowning moment came in the second half, when he danced past the Everton defence to set up Ryan Fraser's all-important goal.
There were other moments, though, setting up Jacob Murphy after a mesmerising run and nearly scoring the goal he deserved late on.
The image of Saint-Maximin taking the acclaim of the Gallowgate at full-time will live long in the memory, as will Tuesday's performance.
