Premier League striker told Celtic is 'a great option' as summer window looms

Didi Hamann thinks Celtic is a 'great option' for Danny Ings ahead of the summer transfer window. 

The striker currently plies his trade with West Ham United and has turned out 15 times for them in the English Premier League this season, scoring once. 

And Hamann reckons a move to Glasgow's east end would be ideal: "His playing time at West Ham has been restricted, and I think Celtic would be a great option for him," he said [PokerFirma].

"The standard of football is not quite as high as the Premier League, and I think he could get a new lease of life up there. 

"He will certainly be on the radar of Celtic and maybe Rangers because he has a proven record of putting the ball into the net. If you make chances for him he will show you where the goal is for sure."

Brendan Rodgers made clear his desire to sign a number nine in the January transfer window after Kyogo Furuhashi swapped Celtic for Rennes. 

Nothing came to fruition, although Daizen Maeda's subsequent switch to play through the middle has undoubtedly benefitted the Parkhead side. 

The player of the year-elect has scored 31 goals in 45 games in total this campaign and added another to his tally in his team's emphatic 5-1 victory over Kilmarnock on Saturday. 

The win took Celtic a step closer to securing the Scottish Premiership title; they now only need a point in their first post-split fixture to become champions for the fourth consecutive season.
