Premier League midfielder refused to leave London to join Liverpool

Darren Bent has revealed the surprising reason former QPR star Adel Tarrabt turned down moves away from Loftus Road.

Liverpool were said to have held an interest in the Moroccan as he dazzled the Premier League during his stint with the Rs. During his time in the capital, he had spells with Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham but it was QPR where he enjoyed his most successful period.

He made over 100 appearances in the English top-flight before setting off to Portugal where he found joy with Benfica. He now plies his trade in the United Arab Emirates with Al Nasst but his former team-mate has revealed the bizarre reason why he opted to remain with the Hoops despite attracting interest.

"I go, 'Yeah but look at the size of the club!'. He goes, 'Benty, everyday I train, I finish, King’s Road, shisha! I don't want to leave London'."
