The Premier League are set to step in and try and prevent future VAR issues that have seen many managers and players unhappy and unsettled since its implementation in 2019.
Since its beginning, VAR was set up and invented to correct the wrongs of certain decisions that referees and officials miss in real-time. The reality of its usage so far has portrayed a different story. There have been many issues that all the managers have picked up but game week 6 of the 2022/23 campaign has been like none other so far.
In the Chelsea vs West Ham, Newcastle vs Crystal Palace, Brentford vs Leeds, Nottingham Forest vs AFC Bournemouth and most recently the Brighton vs Leicester fixtures, VAR was used for different situations. Stamford Bridge, St James Park and the Amex Stadium were the three locations whereby the most controversial of the decisions were made but David Moyes' and Declan Rice's explosive reactions amplified these decisions.

Both labelled the situation 'scandalous'. Reactions which will not see the pair face review from the Premier League as, unlike Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel who was finned heavily under code E3 of the FA rulebook after comments made after the Tottenham draw, Moyes' and Rice's comments did not reach the apparent threshold.
"It is a scandalous decision, absolutely rotten from one of the supposedly elite referees," Moyes told Sky Sports. "It doesn't say much about whoever sent him over from VAR as well. It is an unbelievable decision against us."
"The goalkeeper comes to take it and fumbles it out of his hands," Moyes said in his post-match press conference. "Then he acted as if it was a shoulder injury. I'm amazed that VAR sent the referee to the screen. It was a ridiculously bad decision.
"Today there is no excuse for that not to be a goal, none whatsoever. The sad thing is that this is the level of our elite refereeing at the moment.
"They've got new people in charge who are trying to do something. I've lost faith in them today in the people who are putting up for VAR. After watching it, I can't see how the goal was not given. The referees said they were going to cut back on soft challenges and that was unbelievably soft.
"Referees can make mistakes. I do not see that in a million years. I'm more embarrassed for the guy in VAR than the referee because that's telling me someone who doesn't understand football and shouldn't be near the game if that is enough to put someone near the screen.
In the aftermath of this weekend which has seen the aforementioned technology scrutinised more than ever before, the Premier League have asked the PGMOL to review the incidents related to the two Saturday 3 PM kick-offs with the West Ham and Newcastle disallowed goals, that in hindsight, should have stood.
It is understood that the PGMOL are willing to co-operate on this VAR analysis which is set to get underway immediately.
