Rudiger exit
Various sources are reporting that Antonio Rudiger will leave Chelsea on a free transfer at the end of the campaign. Uncertainty over the club’s ownership is cited as one of the key reasons for his decision, with a takeover from Roman Abramovich expected to take up to two months.
Real Madrid are favourites to sign the German - who arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2017 for £29million. A host of European clubs will be vying for Rudiger’s signature after cementing himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League. The 29-year-old played 90 minutes as Chelsea defeated Manchester City in the Champions League final last season.
Arsenal want Jesus
Man City ace Gabriel Jesus is expected to leave Man City this summer, according to the Athletic. On a day when the Brazilian bagged four past Watford, reports emerged linking Jesus with an Etihad exit.
Pep Guardiola’s side are widely expected to sign Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland - a player whose arrival would see Jesus’ game time become even more limited. The 25-year-old signed for City in 2017 and has won three Premier League titles and is on course to achieve the same again this season. He has one year left on his current deal so could be available for a cut-price fee.
Arsenal regain fourth spot
Arsenal took a huge step to claim the illustrious fourth spot by beating Manchester United 3-1 at the Emirates. Goals from Nuno Tavares, Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka secured a comfortable victory and all but eliminated the Red Devils from contention in the process.
Victory lifted the Gunners into fourth - six points ahead of Man Utd with a game in hand - and two above Tottenham Hotspur, who only managed a 0-0 draw against Brentford. Arsenal travel to Spurs for a tasty winner-takes-all showdown on May 12.
