Leandro Trossard is officially an Arsenal player, but the club's business in the January transfer window isn't complete just yet.
It was announced on Friday that the Belgium international had completed his move from fellow Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth £21million plus add-ons, football.london understands, thus becoming the Gunners' first major signing this month.
"Belgium international Leandro Trossard has joined us from Brighton & Hove Albion on a long-term contract," a statement via the club's official website reads. "The 28-year-old winger was a member of the Belgium squad at the recent World Cup 2022 in Qatar and has made 24 appearances for his country.

Now, with just under two weeks until deadline day, the north London outfit have enough time to bolster their squad in addition to completing a deal for Trossard and it would appear that manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar aren't wasting the opportunity.
Amid talk of an imminent €20m (£17.5m) deal for Spezia central defender Jakub Kiwior, football.london understands talks are ongoing with the view of adding the Poland international to the ranks alongside Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba and Rob Holding before the end of the month.
In the scenario that this transfer does get completed in the coming days, can Arsenal still adhere to the Premier League rules especially after signing Trossard?
Well, after the January transfer window closes, the north London outfit will be permitted to name an updated 25-man squad for the Premier League, from which no more than 17 overseas players can be named, with the remaining eight places available to homegrown members of the squad.
To be considered home-grown, players need to have been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Welsh FA for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).
Of course, as Trossard is not considered home-grown, he joins Matt Turner, Cedric Soares, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Gabriel Magalhaes, Kieran Tierney, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Mohamed Elneny, Granit Xhaka, Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Jesus and George Lewis to make up the 15 overseas Arsenal players named in the Premier League squad list.
This means the Gunners are under the required limit by two - thanks in part to allowing Alexandre Lacazette, Bernd Leno, Alex Runarsson, Pablo Mari, Lucas Torreira and Nicolas Pepe to all depart one way or another in the summer - and would therefore be able to register at least two more non-homegrown players.
And the good news is that Kiwior can take up one of the remaining spots despite the fact that he can't be registered as an Under-21 player who is eligible for the remainder of the season, alongside the likes of William Saliba, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Karl Hein and Marquinhos.
As the Premier League rules state, "for the 2022/23 campaign, Under-21 players will have been born on or after 1 January 2001", so as Kiwior is born before January 1, 2001 - by quite some distance (February 15, 2000) the 22-year-old has to be included in the main list to be available for selection.
