Premier League clubs tracking Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson

Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson is reportedly attracting interest from Leicester City and Wolves after a stellar start to life in the Championship. The Black Cats academy graduate established himself as number one last season, helping guide the Wearsiders back into the second tier.

His fine form in between the sticks for Sunderland has seen him attract interest from the two Premier League clubs, emerging as a major target in the summer. According to The Sun, Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui sees Patterson as the ideal candidate to compete with Jose Sa and eventually take over from the Portuguese international.

The young shot stopper would have to bide his time in order to force his way into the first-team and looks set to play a part in summer negotiations. Brenden Rodgers is also on the hunt for a new long-term successor to Kasper Schmeichel.

The Danish international left the Foxes in the summer and Danny Ward has been the number one at the King Power this season. If Sunderland fail to win promotion this season, they could look for a fee in the region of £10million, according to the report.

A move to the Midlands would make it easier for Daniel Iversen to leave the King Power. The Foxes shot stopper was a target for Alex Neil during his time at the Stadium of Light, but his move to Stoke earlier this season has seen the Potters emerge as front runners to sign the 25-year-old.

Patterson's impressive display against Fulham in the FA Cup saw him take the plaudits for an impressive display at Craven Cottage. If he carries on his current trajectory the youngster will no doubt attract interest from elsewhere.
