Premier League clubs are close to reaching an agreement for betting companies to be banned from advertising on the front of their shirts.
This topic is one of the priority subjects at a shareholders meeting which will take place on Thursday. The proposal will not see betting advertisements on shirts banned entirely, as sleeve sponsorship will still be permitted.
The proposal is expected to be supported by clubs in order to avoid the government implementing legislation which bans gambling sponsorship on shirts entirely.

However, it could take until the Premier League's summer meeting in June to reach a conclusive vote on the matter. Nevertheless, the majority of clubs are expected to be in favour of the proposal as long as they are provided with a three-year transition period.
Leeds United are among the eight Premier League clubs to boast front-of-shirt sponsorship, although Newcastle and Fulham's deals with their respective gambling sponsors will expire at the end of this season.
The Whites have been sponsored by betting firm SBOTOP since the start of the 2020/21 season, which represented the largest commercial deal in the club's history.
A report in The Times reported that one unnamed Premier League club claimed that dropping their front-of-shirt sponsor would see them miss out on as much as £10 million per season.
An agreement was expected to be reached last year, but was delayed after Liz Truss was elected as prime minister in fear of her changing the legislation. A white paper on gambling is now expected as soon as next month.
EFL clubs will not be included in this proposal due to the economic impact it would have.
