Pregnant teen missing in chilling mystery last seen getting in car with driver

Police are trying solve a chilling mystery after a missing pregnant teenager was last seen getting into a car with an unknown driver.

Laela Kamoria Jones, 14, from North Carolina, US, disappeared on January 14 earlier this year after she left her home and got into a green 2000 Buck Century with a stranger.

She was seen wearing fluffy black shoes, had a pink bonnet on her head, black leggings and a robe with glittery sparkles that said 'DRIP' on it.

The teen, who is described as 5ft 4ins and around 10st, has only just been publicly reported missing by the police on May 24.

Members of the public have criticised cops for the lack of awareness surrounding her disappearance with authorities taking four months to release vital information.

One user wrote underneath the police's Facebook post: "January and this is just being published?"

Her family have slammed the police for only revealing the information now (North Carolina Department of Public Safety)

Another said: "It should not take four months for this to be released to the public. Surely someone could’ve seen her and helped her along this time."

Some users believe if the teen had been white authorities may have spread the awareness quicker.

"January? If she was white it would have been on the news," one commented.

According to her family members, the teenager is thought to be pregnant and was seeking medical attention when she disappeared.

One woman, who claims to be the missing girl's aunt, responded to the post saying the family has been begging the police to make a public appeal.

She wrote: "To clear the air we have been telling the police to put it out since January not just now so ask the police why they are not doing their job first and foremost."

The public is asked to report any information concerning the teen to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Laela previously went missing when she was 13-years-old in December 2021.

Winston-Salem police had issued an Amber Alert for the missing child but she was found just three days later after she "returned home on her own", according to authorities.

The family had been offering a cash reward for anyone who could help find her as police refused to disclose any further information on her disappearance.
