Pregnant mum in tears after couple arrive at her home

A pregnant mum has thanked a kind couple after they came to her aid.

The mum who posted the story to a local St Helens Facebook page said that she needed a new bed as her two children would have to share a room once her new baby arrives. She noticed a couple selling a bunk bed for £100 so borrowed the money from her mum.

However, she said that after borrowing the money she felt a "huge amount of pressure" to repay the loan at the earliest opportunity. After speaking to the couple, they agreed to deliver the bed at no extra cost to the mum.

When the couple arrived they then insisted on putting up the bed before leaving. When the mum went to pay them, the couple refused.

After spending an hour setting up the bed the mum went to pay but the couple refused her money saying "your need is greater than ours." The post has since racked up over two thousand likes on Facebook and two hundred comments.

The post said: "This is a post of appreciation for a certain couple who have literally made me cry, thanks to their absolute generosity today. They were selling a bunk bed and I was in desperate need as my son will be born soon and I needed my girls to share a room, the bunk bed was £100.

"I lent that money off my mum as times are hard and I really needed the bed, and absolutely didn't have the funds myself. I knew that by lending the money I would feel under a huge amount of pressure to repay at the earliest possible opportunity.

"Today they came and delivered the bed. They also told me that they would actually put it all together in the girls' room for me, I said they didn't have to and I would get my partner to do it but they insisted so I already felt really grateful.

"They spent a good hour building the bed for us and when they were done I went to give them the money. They wouldn't accept the money as they said, and I quote, 'your need is greater than ours'.

"We are as a family, so grateful. I hope they are on this page and see this and know that it meant the absolute world to me, and to the rest of the family, and from the bottom of my heart I thank you both so much. I really don't know how to thank you."
