Pregnant mum fights for her life after suffering brain aneurysm one week from due date

A woman is in a medically induced coma after suffering a brain aneurysm one week before her due date.

Social media beauty influencer Jackie Miller James, 35, finds herself locked in a struggle for survival after suffering a brain aneurysm rupture, leaving her in a medically induced coma.

The life-threatening incident occurred a mere week before she was due to welcome her baby into the world.

According to her family, the rupture led to severe brain bleeding and injury. Jackie was found by her husband, Austin, who immediately rushed her to the emergency room.

In a race against time, doctors performed an emergency C-section and brain surgery simultaneously to save both Jackie and her unborn child.

Jackie has been in a medically induced coma for twelve days now, having undergone five separate brain procedures, the family said.

Her condition is critical, and she is expected to spend weeks in the intensive care unit (ICU) and several months hospitalized.

The circumstances surrounding the birth have also kept the newborn baby girl in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for further observation and care.

After twelve days, the baby was discharged from the NICU and got to meet her mother, as seen in the heart-stopping pictures.

"If Jackie and the baby arrived a few minutes later at the hospital, we likely would have lost both of them," the family said in a GoFundMe page. "But instead, Jackie is continuing to fight for her life each day and we are optimistic she can beat the odds by surrounding her with the right specialists and methods of therapy."

They added: "While the road will be long, we are committed to bringing Jackie home to her daughter and husband."

Any funds collected will be used towards "outside costs" such as speech therapy, physical therapy, home modifications, and alternative therapies once Jackie recovers from the coma, her family said.

They noted they intend to donate any remaining funds to other families facing similar hardships or relevant charitable causes.

The family expresses their gratitude for sharing Jackie's story and spreading awareness among friends, family members, and communities who are willing to extend a helping hand to ensure this new mother can return home to her baby girl.

She turned to social media to talk about issues like botox (Instagram)

Jackie had been sharing her pregnancy journey with her over 27,000 followers, providing updates on her routines, skincare, and symptoms.

Before becoming an influencer, she worked for a plastic surgeon and had a career as a backup dancer in New York.

She turned to social media because she wanted to discuss topics like Botox and fillers. She got married to her husband, Austin, in April 2022.

The campaign has raised nearly $96,000 in two days, with a goal of $250,000.
