Pregnant Kate Ferdinand supported as she makes 'brave' move while confessing to 'feeling like she's failing'

Kate Ferdinand has been supported by her fans after she said she has made a 'brave' move. The former The Only Way is Essex star went makeup-free for her latest podcast recording, which is also filmed, as she admitted to "not feeling confident" without it.

Kate, who is expecting her second child with former footballer Rio Ferdinand, has been honest about her struggles with skin pigmentation in the past and on the recent episode of her Blended podcast, which celebrates and explores blended families like her own, the former TV star said she had a "little life update."

Sharing a clip from the episode, the 31-year-old explained: "Today on blended we have a little life update from me. I've spoke lots over the years about my pigmentation and not feeling confident without makeup. Being pregnant & recently being on holiday means the pigmentation is a little worse at the minute.

"But I thought, sod it I’m going to be brave (and this feels brave for me) and go makeup free for this mini-episode. I talk all things holidays, hospitals, potty training & baby brain."

In the clip Kate posted to Instgram, the author and TV personality described a conversation she had with Rio about their kids, Cree Ferdinand, two, and step-kids, Lorenz Ferdinand, 16, Tia Ferdinand, 12, and Tate Ferdinand, 14. "Me and Rio would play our music in the car, in the house, and the kids would be like, ‘What is this old music?’" Kate said. "I like to think of us as cool parents."

In the comments, fans were quick to support and praise Kate for embracing her skin while also sharing their own anecdotes about being cool parents. @steph.p.1984 said: "You're are such a beautiful lady both inside and out, with or without make up! Also my 13 year old prefers our music, she says this generations music is rubbish! She’s forever playing garage and R’n’B from the 1990’s onwards! #coolparents."

@hannie_sparkle wrote: "You look so much better without makeup. Be your true beautiful self and find happiness in your own skin." @clarelisakeklik commented: "Kate, what you have to say has far more value than what you look like. Having said that you certainly should not worry about going bare faced as look beautiful."

I love the way you talk about your lovely family- you can see the love in your eyes." @lisakellyfife added: "U look beautiful Kate glad your embracing your natural self and showing natural is beautiful well done for embracing it and being a little vulnerable tou wear pigmentation very well."

In the podcast, Kate was heard talking about potty training her and Rio's toddler and jokingly warned other parents: "Brace yourself for a week of hell." She went on; "It's hard work, you repeat yourself constantly, you say the same thing all the time. And you feel like at certain stages you're failing.

"They might have a little lapse backwards. It was really, really, difficult," she explained. However, the mum-of-two-to-be shared that once the first, and most difficult week is over, everything is then "kind of OK" and described Cree's training as a "work in progress."
