Gemma Atkinson has shared Gorka Marquez's hilarious response after she suggested to him that their son could be in the army. The Hits Radio host was hailed an "inspiration" to pregnant women after completing a weekend fitness retreat in the Scottish Highlands.
In an image posted to her Instagram page, a beaming Gemma gave a thumbs-up to the camera as she enjoyed the trip to Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands with Fitnessat58degrees. Fans agreed that the 38-year-old, from Bury, was 'glowing' as she shared photos from her active retreat which she spent with Olympians and SAS legends, including Channel 4's SAS: Who Dares Wins star Jason 'Foxy' Fox.
"What a weekend! Sat waiting to fly home from 2 nights in Aviemore," she wrote alongside the photo to her more than one million followers.
Gemma, who announced back in January that she and her Strictly Come Dancing star fiance Gorka Marquez would be welcoming a little boy into their family this summer, a little brother for their three-year-old daughter Mia, went on to say: "We've been lucky enough to spend the weekend with Olympians, SAS legends and all round inspirational people. Hearing their stories has been so inspiring and motivating. All out in the wonderful wilderness."
And fitness fan Gemma, from Bury, who regularly shares her workouts with fans, added movingly about her achievement while pregnant: "I brought little man to the table in the form of my bump and at times felt I was hiking carrying a med ball BUT I did it, and I loved it!"
During one of her latest Hits Radio shows alongside co-host Mike Toolan, Gemma told her pal about her adventure as she said live on air: "I spent the weekend with the SAS, Tools." He replied: "Did you?" with interest as Gemma continued to marvel: "The Special Air Service. I was with the elite force of highly trained soldiers. Real-life John Rambo's."
Mike said: "Real life SAS," trying to share Gemma's pride and enthusiasm. "And the stories, I can't share because it's classified information," the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star tried to seriously say before laughing as Mike said: "No it's not!"
"No, it's not but the stories they told me..." Gemma started to say as Mike asked: "Have they been in like proper warfare and stuff?" To which his co-host replied: "Yeah! Honestly, blew my mind. Then I came home to a Spanish dancer," which caused both her and Mike to burst out laughing.
Recalling telling Gorka about her trip and how their unborn son could end up in the army or SAS, Gemma said: "I actually said to him, 'Gorka, imagine if our son-to-be wants to be a marine or, you know, an SAS guy.' And he went, 'Gemma, I wear sparkles. He's more likely to be a cheerleader,'" which prompted more laughter.
The comments section of the Hits Radio Instagram post was quickly littered with crying laughing emojis while @kat1987_ also said: "I love when @glouiseatkinson does her @gorka_marquez impressions!" after she tried to mimic his Spanish accent when retelling the story.
