Pregnant couple in stitches after gender reveal accidentally 'ruined' by bakery

While some choose to have gender reveal parties with friends and family, other couples are opting for a more intimate moment these days.

The traditional typically sees expectant parents cut into a cake revealing colours, either blue or pink. Two parents were left speechless during their reveal, as a bakery accidentally provided the wrong cake.

The mother shared the unfortunate moment on TikTok, which has since picked up thousands of views, reports the Mirror.

Lyss, who posts under the account @alyssa_quintos, wrote: "When the bakery has one job."

The video clip, which has surpassed 14.9 million views to date, captured the moment the pregnant couple sliced into their cake to reveal the colour underneath.

However, they were left with their jaws dropping as it simply unveiled a normal sponge cake without the traditional colours inside.

Thankfully, however, Lyss and her partner were able to see the light in the situation and instantly burst into laughter upon discovering the bakery's mishap.

"I think they gave us the wrong cake! It's yellow," they joked.

Since sharing the mishap, the couple's video has raked in over 4,500 comments - where people were convinced that the bakery 'messed up'. One person wrote: "That bakery did yall so wrong."

Meanwhile, someone else said: "Congratulations on your white baby!!"

On the other hand, a different TikTok user penned: "I feel like the outside of the cake is blue lol they deff messed up lol."

A second agreed: "I think they misunderstood the assignment and made the outside blue for boy."
