Predictions for AZ Alkmaar v Celtic: Back the Bhoys to register a seventh straight victory in the AFAS Stadion

Celtic are firmly in the driving seat going into Thursday's Europa League qualifier second leg against AZ Alkmaar and Ange Postecoglou will be hoping this his in-form side can complete the job with the minimum of fuss given what lies ahead at the weekend.

Alkmaar had their moments at Parkhead but the Hoops ultimately deserved their two-goal victory and it is going to take something pretty spectacular for Alkmaar to turn this around.

It's not as if the hosts can take any confidence from their domestic form given they lost their opening Eredivisie match of the season against RKC Waalwijk despite having 72% possession and 19 shots. Pascal Jansen's side have plied their trade in the group stages of the Europa League for the past two seasons but the Europa Conference awaits unless they can find their shooting boots on Thursday night.

Celtic go into this game on a real high after hitting St Mirren for six at the weekend and although they don't have to win in 90 minutes to progress, don't expect the visitors to sit on what they have.

The Bhoys have scored 24 goals in their six-game unbeaten run and are perfectly placed to pick the hosts off as they try and claw their way back into this tie, so the best betting angle into this second leg is to back Celtic to win the game, which is a 9/5 chance with Grosvenor Sport.

TIP

Celtic to win - 9/5
