There was a small hint from Jesse Marsch, or a red herring, on which way he may go with his team selection during yesterday’s press conference. When asked about Wilfried Gnonto’s candidacy for a full debut, the head coach shoehorned Sam Greenwood’s name into his answer.
Jack Harrison, after his half-time hook last weekend and general decline in recent weeks, seemed to be most at risk of the chop against Tottenham Hotspur even before his injury doubt. That muscle strain may just seal the deal in Marsch’s head.
There was praise for Gnonto after his impressive cameos, but the effort to mention Greenwood perhaps suggests Brenden Aaronson may shift wider to accommodate the former Arsenal man behind Rodrigo. Marc Roca is another who could do with a strong showing today, but there’s no suggestion his place is under threat in the capital.

Luke Ayling impressed in midweek, but while Rasmus Kristensen keeps his level up it’s hard to see how the vice-captain forces his way back in right now. The rest of the defence picks itself.
Predicted line-up: Meslier; Kristensen, Koch, Cooper, Struijk; Adams, Roca; Aaronson, Greenwood, Summerville; Rodrigo.
