Predator jailed after sex attacks on two women at Tube stations in central London

Mansoor Ahmed - (British Transport Police)

A predator who sexually assaulted two women on the London Underground in “disgusting” acts has been jailed.

Mansoor Ahmed, 30, attacked one as she walked up stairs at Gloucester Road station in Kensington, west London on September 6, 2020.

The victim screamed and Ahmed ran from the scene.

She reported the incident to British Transport Police the following day, a force spokesman said.

Following a public appeal, Ahmed was identified and circulated as wanted.

But on November 20, a second woman was sexually assaulted by Ahmed while she travelled down steps at Charing Cross Station.

He walked away but the victim spotted nearby BTP officers and reported the crime to them.

Ahmed was arrested but later released under investigation and vanished while enquiries continued.

It wasn’t until May 2021 that he was found on board a ferry arriving at Holyhead port in Wales from Dublin, Ireland.

Ahmed, of Stephenson Street, Riverside, Cardiff, was arrested and subsequently charged with two counts of sexual assault.

At Cardiff Crown Court, having pleaded guilty he was sentenced to 26 months and must sign the sex offenders register for 10 years.

Detective Sergeant David Weatherhead, who led the investigation, said: “Ahmed’s behaviour was absolutely disgusting and there is zero tolerance for this on the rail network.

“I would like to thank the two victims for their courage in coming forward and reporting this offence.

“Tackling violence against women and girls is a key priority at BTP.”

Any victim of a sexual offence can report it discreetly to officers by texting 61016, or 999 in an emergency.
