It's important to note that while pre-loading the game will have plenty of assets downloaded to your console, you will likely have to install extra assets and data come the full release - nonetheless, pre-loading should cut down install times dramatically.
Xbox players who have pre-ordered Elden Ring digitally should be able to load the game before it is launched at 12am on Friday, February 25.
PlayStation players will be able to pre-load the game 48 hours before the game launches.
Because PC players have more variety on what stores they can order the game from, pre-load times may differ from person to person.
Theoretically, the PC release should be available to pre-load at the same time across stores which will be at 5pm on February 22.
Regardless of variables from console to console, all players are being given ample time to pre-load Elden Ring and get stuck into the world of the Lands Between as soon as possible.
