The Government Public Relations Department (PRD) suggests additional staying at home measures in the fight against the spread of Covid-19 after the number of infections among family members surged.
“There has been a surge in Covid-19 infections among family members in the home, seen as one of the major reasons for the overall increase despite massive investment in preventive campaigns by the government and private sectors,” according to the PRD. This has prompted all related agencies to lay out effective preventive measures for people, especially when they are at home.
To deal with the issue, the PRD, Thailand’s main department responsible for disseminating government information and informing the public, has suggested 12 guidelines aimed at protecting citizens from the virus when staying at home in accordance with government and private sector campaigns:
1) Always wear a mask at home if there are more than two people.
2) Take a shower immediately after returning home.
3) Keep a distance of at least one metre from each other when talking and sleeping.
4) Keep a distance of at least one metre from each other when eating.
5) Clean hands before eating everytime.
6) Do the washing up immediately after eating and drinking.
7) Do not share plates, glasses and eating utensils.
8) Clean all sanitary ware before use.
9) Separate virus-prone sanitary ware from others.
10) Frequently clean all common touch points.
11) Disinfect parcels with alcohol spray before taking them inside the home.
12) Self-quarantine immediately if you notice any symptoms of Covid-19.
The PRD also asks for tight cooperation from all citizens including family members to continue to strictly follow rules to prevent faster spread of the coronavirus both in public areas and when at home.
All relevant Covid-19 preventive measures must be strictly implemented to avoid getting infected or spreading the virus to family members. The Government’s Public Relations Department (PRD) sends its best wishes to all citizens, as it continues to stand by them throughout the outbreak and beyond.
