New Delhi: A day after AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking the inclusion of the Jat community of Delhi in the Centre's OBC list, BJP's candidate Pravesh Verma on Thursday accused Kejriwal of neglecting the community in Delhi.

"He is the man who has never visited any village. He has done nothing for the Jat community. When he realised that the rural part of the national capital won't vote him in this elections, he has started showing his concern for the Jats and other communities," Pravesh Verma said in press conference.

Pravesh Verma further said that in the past 10 years Kejriwal did not bring in any proposal for Jats in the Delhi Assembly.
Kejriwal writes letter to PM
In his letter to PM, Kejriwal highlighted that Jat community members from Rajasthan are granted OBC reservation benefits under the central list, while jats of Delhi are denied the same benefits at central institutions such Delhi University.

"There are seven universities of the central government in Delhi. There are dozens of colleges of Delhi University. There are jobs in many institutions of the central government like Delhi Police, NDMC, DDA, AIIMS, Safdarjung, Ram Manohar Lohia in which the rules of the central government are applicable. In such a situation, due to this breach of promise by the central government, injustice is being done to thousands of youth of the OBC community of Delhi," Kejriwal said in the letter.
