The content hosting agreement was signed by Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati and Yupp TV founder and CEO Uday Reddy.

The ministry said that the move is in accordance with its “vision” to expand the global reach of DD India. It said the idea is to “put forth India's perspective on various international developments on global platforms” and “showcase India's culture and values to the world”.

DD India has established itself as a global influencer on India related issues through its sharp analysis and commentary, thought provoking views and opinions and cutting edge visual presentation.” The ministry said that DD India was “India’s window to the world” and that the channel offers viewers “India's perspective on all domestic and global developments” through its programmes. It added that the channel also acts as a “bridge between India and the Indian diaspora” spread across the world.

Commenting on the partnership with Yupp TV, the statement said that the platform has made Indian channels “easily and cost effectively” available across the world.
