Pranksters' disbelief as they try to sell 'blood-soaked crime scene' car to dealership

Notorious YouTube pranksters Josh Pieters and Archie Manners were keen to test out whether vehicle dealership We Buy Any Car lives up to its name – and they were left stunned by the outcome.

The 29-year-olds, who are known for their prank videos on the video sharing platform, pretended to be criminals that were trying to ditch a blood-splattered hatchback – but the motor firm still accepted it.

In a now viral video, the visibly nervous pair can be seen parking the Kia Picanto, which was smeared with fake blood, and the boot was filled with rope, cable ties and real hair, at We Buy Any Car's Putney branch.

They told the worker they needed to "get rid of it quickly", and the pair were shocked as they were quoted £196 – despite Archie taking a hammer from the driver's seat, passing it to Josh and asking him to "give it a wipe".

The worker, who might have realised something was a bit out of the ordinary, can be heard saying: "I don't know what's going on, but you guys shouldn't have sold it. You should have scrapped it."

Before Josh and Archie leave, he even asks "have I got anything to worry about?" but after they reassure him he simply says "cool, the money will come in three hours," completing the sale.

In another bizarre interaction before they drive off, the worker can be heard urging them not to "take the motorway" but to "use the dual carriageway" instead, if they are "smart".

The pair have since shared their shock that the company actually bought the car, despite their efforts of trying to make it look like a crime had taken place, and they were making a quick getaway.

Josh added: "He just did his job. He was supposed to buy any car and it wasn't his business why it was there or what it was there for.

"We expected that they wouldn't accept it and I wasn't sure if we'd done a good enough job of faking it. I thought we'd get laughed at. Clearly the work we did was quite good."

Earlier the same day Archie and Josh attempted a similar experiment at the Clapham Junction branch with a car they had stuck sex toys onto. As well as glueing them to the roof, they cut holes in the Vauxhall's seats and stuffed the adult toys into them.

However, this time We Buy Any Car rejected it.

Archie said: "They weren't willing to buy the sex car and the woman didn't find it funny at all but her colleague was intrigued by it all. We're really surprised they didn't buy it.

"I kept cracking up and had to make a bad joke to cover why I was laughing.

"There was glue on it and there were rips in the seats but both the cars were road legal."

Speaking of why they wanted to do the experiment, Josh explained: "We thought they had a fascinating name because they're one of the only companies who state exactly what they do in it and we wanted to see if it's true or not.

"It turns out We Buy Any Car don't buy any car, but not the cars you'd expect them not to buy. The ones they do buy, they should be checking a little bit more before turning a profit."

Archie added: "We'd like to call on them to rename themselves to We Buy Some Cars or We Maybe Buy Any Car."

We Buy Any Car were approached, but declined to comment.
