Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham is one of the largest hospitals in the country. Located on Derby Road, it was officially opened by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 1977 and has served countless people since then.
For a while now the NHS has been going through a difficult time due to staff shortages and rising demand, among other things. But despite the ongoing issues, a lot of patients are still taking the time to say 'thank you' to hospital staff.
On the NHS website, many people have left positive comments about the QMC recently. One of them, who gave their name as 'Lee', wrote: "I attended ward 25 yesterday with my adult son who has severe learning disabilities and autism for surgery.
"All of the staff were efficient, caring and compassionate to both my son and myself throughout the day. Thank you."
Another patient said: "A lovely, friendly yet professional staff. I have attended for about five hours on each of the last four days.
"Cannot compliment them too much. Thanks."
Someone who recently had a fall and broke their wrist said: "From the moment I went into A&E the staff were very caring and professional. The staff in the plaster room were so kind and at my follow-up appointment in the treatment centre, the service was excellent. Thank you all."
Angela Gripton said: "My son was in a car crash and needed life-saving surgery. The treatment and care he received was excellent and everyone involved was so caring and helpful through a very difficult time.
"I cannot thank all who helped my son enough. He is home now and recovering thanks to all the care and support he had throughout his 11 days.
"I truly appreciate all that you do. Thank you for looking after my son and the family through the worst time of our lives. You are forever in my heart."
An anonymous patient wrote: "I had to go to the X-ray department. The staff were lovely, helpful and kind.
"The radiologist was an absolute star. He gave me so much reassurance and helpful advice that I had needed for so long and couldn't get from my doctor.
"He was patient and listened. Not once did he rush me off.
"I was made to feel listened to and he gave help as to what to do next. If only all staff were like him this world would be such a lovely place."
