The popular Starz series, Power Book II: Ghost, is nearing its end with the announcement of its upcoming fourth season being the final one. The show, a part of the Power franchise, will conclude with a split final season, with the first part premiering on Friday, June 7, and the second half following on Friday, Sept. 6. This decision comes as the series approaches its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of success for the franchise.
President of programming at Starz, Kathryn Busby, expressed excitement for the explosive final season, assuring fans that it will be a fitting conclusion to the beloved series. Despite the end of Power Book II: Ghost, Starz remains committed to delivering compelling storytelling within the Power universe, hinting at more projects in the pipeline.
Created by Courtney Kemp and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the Power franchise began with the flagship series in 2014, which concluded in 2020 after six successful seasons. The franchise has since expanded to include Book II: Ghost, Book III: Raising Kanan, and Book IV: Force, with additional spinoffs in the works.
While plans for a spinoff titled Influence were unsuccessful, Starz is gearing up for more developments in the Power franchise as the network prepares to separate from its current ownership under Lionsgate. The studio's Lionsgate Television has been instrumental in producing the Power series, with Kemp credited as an executive producer despite her departure for a new deal with Netflix.
The final season of Ghost features a talented cast, including Michael Rainey Jr., Mary J. Blige, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, and others. The show is helmed by showrunner Brett Mahoney, known for his work on Empire.
Starz's lineup of scripted originals also includes BMF, Outlander, P-Valley, and the upcoming Spartacus: House of Ashur, showcasing the network's commitment to diverse and engaging content.
As fans eagerly anticipate the conclusion of Power Book II: Ghost, the trailer for the final season promises an intense and thrilling end to this chapter of the Power franchise.
