Poundland selling items for 1p as it helps struggling customers

Bargain retailer is reducing some items to as little as 1p as it looks to help out hard-pressed shoppers. It has a new range called Value Heroes, which aims to help people who are struggling with the mounting cost of living.

It is seeing some kitchen and homeware stock being reduced to a penny every Wednesday. Shoppers will now see some kitchen and homeware stock reduced to just 1p every Wednesday. You'll be able to find reduced items online too, reports the Sun.

One thing to look out for if you're buying online is delivery costs, which could add £5 to £10 to your bill depending on where you live, reports BirminghamLive. Poundland has also announced it will open or relocate 25 stores by the end of the year. By the end of September, the bargain retail chain plans to have at least 10 more stores open.

Commercial director, Tim Bettley, said: "We’re acutely aware how important value-for-money is right now for our customers – and that’s why whether it’s across grocery, clothing or homewares, we’re doubling down on our promise of amazing value."

The sale was also a welcome change to many bargain hunters, with one fan joking on social media: "Is Poundland going to become a cheap store again??"
