Poundland is recalling its light-up pumpkin and ghost decorations over safety fears. The products, which have been sold in store from October 1, 2022, have been deemed a "serious safety risk" and could cause injury. According to the high street giant's recall information, this is due to the battery compartment of the product not being adequately secured.
This can expose the button cell batteries, which could present a choking hazard for young children. The official product recall states: "Poundland are recalling the above products due to serious safety risk and potential injury due to the battery compartment of the product not being adequately secured which can expose the button cell batteries.
"The button batteries may be placed in the mouth and swallowed, presenting a choking hazard for young children and causing damage to the gastrointestinal tract."
