Potential Ravens 2022 draft target David Ojabo suffers serious injury at Michigan Pro Day

The Baltimore Ravens currently have 10 selections in the 2022 draft as they look to fill multiple needs and round out a very talented roster. They hold the No. 14 overall pick, which by itself should give the team an extremely talented playmaker.

There are multiple top prospects that Baltimore could look to draft in the first round. One of them was potentially University of Michigan EDGE David Ojabo, who played under Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald last season. However, Ojabo suffered a torn achilles at Michigan’s Pro Day on Friday, which is a big blow to his draft stock.

Ojabo had a breakout season in 2021 for the Wolverines, totaling 35 total tackles and 11 sacks. He is still a very raw player, but showed countless flashes of stardom that many teams were seemingly excited about. A torn achilles can be challenging to come back from, but there have been multiple examples of players coming back from the injury in a short amount of time, including the most recent example of Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers.

It remains to be seen how far Ojabo falls in the draft next month, but he could still be a very worthwhile investment for Baltimore in the second round. The team has the ammunition to move up and down the draft board, so they could look to take a flyer on a player with such immense potential.
