City may just have secret weapon in Bellingham chase
Next summer Manchester City could be presented with a midfield conundrum and by now they should know how to solve it.
In Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Rodri, City have arguably the best midfield unit in club football. No other team in the world can claim to have three No.8s of such quality, while only a handful can argue that they have a defensive midfielder better than Rodri.
However, eventually time catches up with every footballer, particularly midfielders. Next summer could well be the summer City have to act to rejuvenate their midfield and keep Pep Guardiola's side competing for titles on all fronts. If the last two weeks have taught us anything, it is that Jude Bellingham should be City's prime transfer target.

Guardiola predicted injury woes for defender
If Pep Guardiola talks about an international break, he often says the same thing.
He will bemoan the amount of games his Manchester City players must play, accept that they want to play for their countries, and express hope that none of them pick up any injuries. Guardiola even said earlier this season that national teams won't take clubs into account when playing their best players, so he won't consider the national teams when making his own selections.
Those sorts of comments support Guardiola's belief that there is no point relying on national teams to rest players for the benefit of their club seasons. It's why he always refers to a successful international break from City's perspective as one where his squad return with no injuries. It seems this time, he won't get his wish, as John Stones limped out of England's draw with Germany on Tuesday, and Gareth Southgate confirmed he had felt something in his hamstring.
