Potential for strike action for workers at company which runs Medilink buses in Nottingham

There is a potential for strike action as workers for the company which operates Medilink buses rejected an offer as part of a pay dispute.

CT4N employees rejected a pay offer via the RMT Union after a ballot, which the company say was "fair" and would have come with enhanced employee benefits.

Meanwhile, in messages to staff by RMT Union seen by Nottinghamshire Live, industrial action is mentioned along with dates later this month.

It urges staff to "send the company a clear message" and "stand together in solidarity".

A spokesman for CT4N said: “We are disappointed that RMT union members have rejected a fair offer at a time of continued uncertainty due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Alongside an immediate pay rise, we have put forward proposals for a range of enhanced employee benefits that will help to recognise their hard work during these difficult times.

“All CT4N’s commercial activities support the work of our charitable trust, and we have also pledged to carry out a full pay review later in 2022 when we have more certainty on post-pandemic travel patterns and future contracts.

“In the meantime, we will continue to talk with the RMT and colleagues, and hope they will reconsider their position.”

CT4N is a charitable trust which operates the Easylink service on behalf of Nottingham City Council and also provides a Group Travel service for community and voluntary groups.

It also runs the Medilink service, which runs every 10 minutes from Queens Drive Park and Ride to the Queens Medical Centre and City Hospital.
