Three men in balaclavas broke into a local Post Office in south Manchester.
The men forced their way into the shop on Lapwing Lane, in Didsbury, last night (Monday).
Police said they fled the scene in a white van after stealing cash.
The van was found burnt out on nearby Brixton Avenue.

A member of staff was in the premises at the time, police said, but was left uninjured.
A cordon was in place around the Post Office last night, which is on a row of other several other shops, bars and cafes.
No arrests have been made.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Police were called around 6.15pm on Monday 17 January 2022 to a report of a robbery at a business premises on Lapwing Lane, Manchester.
"Enquiries have since established three men, wearing balaclavas, had broken into the premises before fleeing in a white van with cash.
"A member of staff was present at the time but was left uninjured.
"The van was later found burnt out on Brixton Avenue, Manchester.
"Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made."
