As the devastating wildfires continue to ravage Southern California, the Los Angeles County District Attorney, Nathan Hochman, has outlined the potential legal repercussions for individuals involved in criminal activities related to the infernos.

One of the primary concerns is arson. Hochman emphasized that if it is determined that any of the fires were deliberately set by individuals, those responsible will face arrest and potential criminal charges. The intentional act of arson is a serious offense that will not be taken lightly.

Furthermore, individuals who violate the county's curfew restrictions put in place during this emergency situation could also be subject to arrest. The curfew is designed to ensure public safety and compliance is essential to prevent further chaos and harm.

Curfew violators may be arrested for public safety.
Arsonists will face arrest and criminal charges.
Looting, drone flying, and scamming fire victims will be punished.

Hochman also highlighted that looting homes, flying drones without permission, or attempting to scam fire victims will not go unpunished. Those engaging in such activities will face legal consequences for their actions.

The district attorney's office is closely monitoring the situation and working in collaboration with law enforcement agencies to investigate any criminal activities associated with the wildfires. The priority is to maintain law and order during this crisis and hold accountable those who seek to exploit the chaos for personal gain.

While the possibility of criminal charges looms over those involved in unlawful activities, the focus remains on containing the wildfires and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents in the affected areas. Cooperation from the public in adhering to legal guidelines and reporting any suspicious behavior is crucial in mitigating further harm and damage caused by the wildfires.
