Possible 1st-round trade partners emerging for Panthers?

On Tuesday, Carolina Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer stated there are “three to four” front offices he believes are seriously interested in a first-round swap with the team. So, do we now know at least two of those potential trade partners that are sniffing out the Panthers’ sixth overall pick?

Per ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Houston Texans have been exploring the prospect of positioning themselves for two top-10 selections on Thursday night. General manager Nick Caserio, who could be waiting for the “right player to be there” according to Schefter, is currently in possession of the third and 13th overall selections on the board.

Fitterer and Caserio aren’t strangers, as the two engaged in some high-stakes dialogue over the past year for the services of quarterback Deshaun Watson. Houston, additionally, holds a second-round (37th overall) and two third-round (68th and 80th) picks that could be used to package alongside their 13th.

Another possible partner could be the Kansas City Chiefs. As reported by Ari Meirov of MySportsUpdate, they are one of the “most motivated teams looking to trade up.”

The Chiefs—who may be hoping for a top-end wideout to help replace Tyreek Hill—own two first-rounders (29th and 30th), two second-rounders (50th and 62nd) and two third-rounders (94th and 103rd).
