Posh estate offers couple dreamy three-bedroom home for free - but you'll be very busy

A posh estate on the Isle of Harris is advertising for a couple to fill two dream jobs - with a home provided.

Amhuinnsuidhe Castle Estate, Isle of Harris, Outer Hebrides, is looking for a head gamekeeper and housekeeper.

A three-bed house with bills included, car, and a good salary are promised along with kennels.

A job spec says the location is "dramatic and pristine wilderness", and the castle provides five star accommodation to guests from July to October as well as three self-catering homes.

The housekeeper would be required to polish silver, do laundry, clean the private home in the castle, and do some cooking.

It would also involve marketing venison and delivering meat to customers, as well as topping up the bar and welcoming guests.

The head gamekeeper would be responsible for culling red deer and vermin, maintaining wooden boats, and helping guests with fishing, stalking, and shooting, as well as complying with health and safety and logging information.

The ad said: "Amhuinnsuidhe Castle are looking for an experienced Head Housekeeper to oversee the daily running of the castle and self-catering cottages, who has very high standards, good communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage a team and liaise with the office, kitchen and report effectively to the Estate Manager.

"We are looking to recruit an experienced Head Game Keeper for Amhuinnsuidhe Castle Estate, which is a mixed sporting estate offering some of the finest sporting in Scotland.

"Set amidst the dramatic and pristine wilderness of the Outer Hebrides, you will find outstanding salmon and sea trout fishing and excellent red deer stalking and rough shooting.

"The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, honest, enthusiastic individual who has high standards and very good communication skills with the ability to manage a team and report effectively to the Estate Manager."
