Portugal has announced a major travel rule change that means Brits will be able to enter the country quicker.
The European nation said it will fast track UK tourists, as it currently does with EU citizens. Brits arriving at Portuguese airports will now be able to use eGates instead of having to join manual queues alongside other non-European travellers, according to Birmingham Live.
It's more good news for those hoping to have a getaway this year, and it comes just weeks after Portugal confirmed it was axing its passenger locator form requirements for the mainland and the Azores, though this is still mandatory if you're heading to Madeira or Porto Santo.

That said, there are still other entry rules in place for travellers. Fully-vaccinated Brits can enter without any covid tests, but if you're unvaccinated or partially vaccinated you'll need to show proof of a negative covid test; this can be either a PCR test taken within 72 hours before travel, or a lateral flow test taken within 24 hours.
It's not just travel rules which have changed; Portugal has also eased some of its local covid rules. For example, Portugal's Health Minister announced earlier this month that face masks would no longer be mandatory for indoor spaces, except for the likes of public transport and the likes of care homes.
On entry to Portugal, you may also need to show a return or onward ticket and/or show you have enough money for your stay.
