Holidaymakers heading to Portugal have been urged to 'avoid flying' in the latest travel warning.
Following the strike action from seen by Ryanair staff in Spain, civil aviation workers from Portugal’s Civil Aviation Workers’ Union (SINTAC) and the Commercial Aviation Staff Union (SQAC) are expected to strike across three days and could disrupt thousands of travel plans.
Amid a dispute over wages, unions have warned said ground handlers, cabin crew, security staff and fire services are among employees who could strike in airports in Portugal.

The proposed strike will impact ten airports across Portugal, Madeira and Azores run by ANA airports authority, a concession of the French airports group VINCI.
According to Portugal Resident, this comes as after SINTAC rejected ANA’s current employment conditions which included a 30 per cent reduction in salaries.
The union has said it wants a "decent salary increase for its workers, bearing in mind their results and inflation” and “urgent measures” brought in to hire “human resources that are lacking, and to replace the bare minimum necessary to safeguard airport and work security”.
It added that passengers "would be wise" to avoid flying into or out of Portugal between August 19-21.
This follows on from weeks of travel disruption as delays, cancellation and strikes have made travelling abroad stressful for many as some airlines and airports struggle with the demand of holidaymakers.
Ryanair cabin crew in Spain are striking over working conditions and pay with industrial action taking place across 10 of the major airports in the country. The strike action is set to last until January 7 2023 and run every week Monday-Thursday.
