Paul Doolin has been appointed interim manager of Irish League side Portadown until the end of the season.
A League of Ireland title winning boss with Drogheda United in 2007, Doolin had two spells with Ports as a player in the 1990s.
He returned to management after a five-year absence with Athlone Town last August but stepped down in November.
The former Ireland Under-19 boss is straight into a relegation battle as Portadown are second bottom of the Premiership with two wins from 23 games.
They host Crusaders at Shamrock Park tonight and chairman David Jameson said: “We’re delighted that Paul has agreed to join PFC as our new interim manager.
“We look forward to the wealth of experience Paul can bring to Portadown to ensure we stay in the Premiership.”
And Portadown Director of Football Peter Hunniford said: “Paul Doolin is someone who we have rated highly for quite some time.
“He has played at the highest level in both the Irish league and the League of Ireland before moving into management where he has been highly successful.”
Doolin succeeds former Dundalk striker Matthew Tipton who - after four years in charge - parted ways with Portadown following Saturday's defeat to Dungannon Swifts.
