Porn post in Vic Liberals' Facebook hack

Georgie Crozier hopes the hacking of her Facebook account was not politically motivated. (AAP)

Victorian Liberal MP Georgie Crozier says she's facing a life ban from Facebook after hackers posted pornographic images on her profile.

The opposition health spokeswoman and upper house MP's account was hacked about July 1 and then again on Monday.

Graphic images were posted on her profile on the first occasion, leading to it being shut down.

"I'm threatened with a life ban from Facebook because of the pornography that was put up initially," she told Melbourne radio station 3AW on Tuesday.

Her Instagram and WhatsApp accounts were later shut down as well.

The hacker accessed her credit card details through the profile and charged $1800 to her account, with Ms Crozier reporting the identity theft to police.

The latest Facebook hack involved her promoting a weight loss diet, she says.

The dodgy posts have since been deleted and her Facebook page reactivated but she is yet to regain access to all her accounts.

Party deputy leader David Southwick's page was also accessed two days after the initial hack on her account, Ms Crozier says.

Despite describing the timing of the attacks as curious, Ms Crozier is confident they were not co-ordinated.

"MPs rely on social media to communicate with the public and I would hope this senseless attack is random and not politically driven," she said in a statement to AAP.

"This is a timely reminder for everyone to regularly change their passwords across all their social media platforms."
