Lessons about pornography will be given to secondary school students as part of the new Junior Cert curriculum.
Following a major review of RSE (Relationships and Sexuality Education), pornography will be discussed in class in the junior cycle of secondary school.
Other topics in the draft curriculum include the sharing of sexual images online, consent, gender stereotyping, sexual orientation, positive relationships, safer sexual health, LGBTQ+ and addiction issues.

The revamped curriculum for RSE is to be published today, The Irish Independent reports.
The paper reports that the new topics to be introduced in RSE were based on student demands.
The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA), who will publish the draft course today on sex education across two subjects - RSE and SPHE (Social Personal and Health Education).
The NCCA says there should be one integrated curriculum rather than having both RSE and SPHE.
After the draft has been published there will be a three-month period of public consultation. The curriculum will then be finalised and rolled out in schools in September 2023.
Meanwhile, work on revamping the SPHE/RSE curriculum for Senior Cycle is also under way and will likely be open for public consultation by autumn of next year.
The primary school curriculum is also in the process of being redeveloped.
