Popular restaurant's new Ayrshire takeaway almost ready to open as bosses admit to encountering 'challenges'

Kilmarnock's newest takeaway is almost complete according to its owners.

Tempura, which has proved to be a hugely popular restaurant in Ayr, is set to open on Kilmarnock's John Finnie Street.

Bosses say the new venture is 95 per cent ready and could open within the coming weeks.

Those in charge also admitted to encountering some challenges in getting the new venue ready.

In a Facebook post, they wrote: "Other then Mark taking to the tools which has significantly slowed things down we have had a few other challenges to get Kilmarnock open.

"With it being the school holidays and the Ayr venues being so busy we did not want to overstretch ourselves.

"We have also had an absolute nightmare with BT and still have no phone lines or internet but hopefully this will be sorted soon.

"The venue is about 95 per cent complete and we would hope to be open in the next few weeks."

The Kilmarnock town centre venue previously housed the short-lived Killer Griller takeaway and before that was the famous Balti.
