A POPULAR restaurant chain is set to open the doors of a new pizzeria in Scotland for the first time.
Pizza Pilgrims, which first launched in 2012, is set to bring its take on Neapolitan-style pizza to Edinburgh.
The large venue spans two floors, covering 4349 square foot. The layout is “designed to capture the bustling energy of the streets of Napoli with bold, colourful interiors”. The venue is the largest for the company outside of London.
The location boasts 191 covers in total, including a 45-seat outdoor terrace as well as an open kitchen where guests can watch their pizzas getting made.
The new restaurant will also offer hands-on pizza masterclasses, private dining and pub quizzes. There will also be a stage for live music, comedy nights and even drag shows.
The new opening will create 35 new jobs in Scotland’s capital across front and back of house. The team will be led by Robert Turnbull, general manager, who has over 25 years strong hospitality experience.
Founders Thom and James Elliot said of the launch: “We couldn’t be more excited to finally bring Pizza Pilgrims to Edinburgh.

Pizza Pilgrims Neapolitan pizzas are made with the brand’s 72-hour double-fermented dough, according to the company. All ingredients are sourced from Italy. This includes flour from Naples and mozzarella from Napoli.
The new Rose Street store will be open on April 14. Pizza Pilgrims will be running a “soft-launch” week from April 7, offering 50% off food and drink and giving away 1000 free slices on Thursday 10th April, starting from 12pm.
