Popular Nottinghamshire B&M store to close permanently

Budget retailer B&M has confirmed the closure of one of its Nottinghamshire stores. The branch at Lady Bay Retail Park, off Meadow Lane, will shut its doors for good later this month.

No staff are being made redundant. Instead, they will be transferred to other stores. The home and garden chain also has shops at Castle Retail Park at Radford, Victoria Retail Park, Netherfield, Madford Business Park, Daybrook, and Clifton Triangle.

Stores selling branded goods including toys, food and drink, homeware, pet products, health and beauty and seasonal items, can also be found in town centres, in Bulwell, Beeston, and Hucknall. A new branch opened at Castle Marina Retail Park in April.

It has been confirmed to Nottinghamshire Live that the store will close but a spokesperson for the company said the company does not comment on store closures. Its final trading date will be October 7.

Customers aren't happy about the store shutting down. One woman said: "It’s not right there’s plenty of customers that go in there." Another said: "I don't know why, it's always busy."

Lady Bay Retail Park is also home to The Range, Hobbycraft, Dreams, Burger King and Greggs.
